Choosing the appropriate size
Standard dog collars
To determine the size that you need, measure the exact circumference of your dog’s neck snugly and add 1"-2" for a proper fit.
Martingale dog collars
In order to choose the correct size for a martingale collar, you’ll need two measurements. First, we recommend measuring your dog’s head girth, including their ears, at the widest point to make sure you will be able to slip the collar over your dog’s head. Then measure the mid-part of your dog’s neck where the collar usually sits.
As an example, if a specific collar measures 15" at the tightest and 19" at the widest, this indicates that your dog’s head measurements should be less than 19" and your dog's neck should be around 16"-17".
Dog harnesses
To select the correct harness size, measure the dog's chest circumference before placing an order. This is measured at the widest point of the dog's chest, just behind the front legs. Then match the measurements with the sizing information on the product page.
Dog muzzles
To select the correct dog muzzle size, you will need two measurements: your dog’s snout length and circumference.
To measure your dog’s snout circumference, go all the way around the snout. For small dogs and dogs with particularly short snouts, measure 1/2 inch below their eyes, and for big dogs, measure 1 inch below their eyes. To measure the length, go from the inside corner of one eye to the tip of their nose.
Please note that if you choose the wrong muzzle size, your dog may be able to wriggle out of it. If you need any help in selecting the right muzzle, please reach out to us at support@collardirect.company.
